How do you make 4.5 recognize a USB port?

I have Paradox 4.5 for dos on a gateway notebook (Windows ME)which only has USB ports for printers. PDOX wants LPT1. "PRN" wont type in in Custom Config. as "Help" says it should.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

You can only print to parallel or serial ports. If it has a serial port, you might be able to buy a converter.
