Greetings:

Newbie,here...If data is collected using FSO and stored in a *.txt file, how can one convert or import that data into an *.xls file and turn around and send this file via email? Is it possible? A small sniplet of code would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,

Cas5

Well, if you have Excel on the server side, you COULD set up a Excel VBA script to monitor a certain directory for new files (I wouldn't recommend having it CONSTANTLY hitting the DIR... that could wear and tear that sector of the hard disk over time. More like once every 5 minutes or something). Once a new .txt file(s) is detected, you could have the script read the file(s) information and plug it into a sheet, then email that sheet wherever it needs to go.

'Course, you're saying that you're a newbie, and this may be a tad complex. You'll need to be well versed in ASP, VBScript, AND VBA script....

Hope this gives you food for thought
