This used to be easy in 5.5 but how do you hide a user in Exchange 2000 from appearing in the global address list?

Open up your "Active Directory Users and Computers", go into the Users Properties. From there click on the "Exchange Advance" tab. Check "hide from Exchange Address list"

I must be missing that tab. It does not exist. The e-mail server is a member server. When I check this in AD on the domain controller, there is no tab like that.

Any ideas?

You'll need to do it from your Exchange server. Go to ADUC from the Exchange server, click on View and select Advanced view, then navigate to the user properties and you'll see the tab.

Wonderful, thanks for sharing your knowledge! I do not know if I could have stumbled on to that one.
