How do you get past a screensaver that is passworded?
Any ideas

You must be the user that is logged on or have administrative rights. If you aren't the logged on user, just put in your username and password and the unlock screen. It will log off the logged on user but it will let you in.

Also there is always the old method. Reboot the machine.

Thanks lads, but what i was wondering was if I left my computer alone for a while and it was then locked by the screensaver lock, would it then be possible to unlock it without knowing my password and getting into my account?? I think someone has done that to me today!!
Any genius's out there??

dringer:

according to my experience, they will not be able to unlock it without knowing your password. But since I am not a hacker, i do not know if you can use a program to randomize passwords on that screen. (It shouldn't work, anyway). The only thing they could do is reboot your machine and then get into your computer. But whatever you were working on before the screensaver will be lost!

Hope this helps.

My experience is pretty much the same. They shouldn't be able to get past the screen saver without your password. Could they have come along and got onto it before the screen saver kicked in and locked the machine?

smactek has the best way i'm serious
-REBOOT THEN SET PASSWORD TO SOMETHING YOU WILL REMEMBER

*hope that helps
