I have an unusally high load on a SunOS 5.8 system. It is running and ORACLE 5.1.5 database. What is the best way to determine what is causing this? Also does any one know what the process "fsflush" is?

Thanks

Follow this link for an explanation of fsflush

In terms of looking at loads, I find the top command is very useful. If you haven't got it pre-installed on your machine then you'll have to download it. It looks like you're running Solaris 8 so it may be bundled with it already.

If you don't have top, try this command:

/usr/bin/prstat -a

Looks a lot like top. I hope this helps!

--Avardan

You can download "top" at sun.freeware.com.

Even better, if you can get proctools. It doees a lot more than top and has a graphical interface
