I am trying to remove a SQL table from a report, however, there is one field in the SQL table that is still being used on the report (it has a green checkmark over next to the field name).

Is there any quick way to find out where this field is? It's not in the main report, and I've checked formulas, running totals, select expert and suppress conditions.
I will keep looking, of course, but I was just wondering if there was a way to find out where, exactly, this field resides in the report.

Thank you.

Export the report, and when you get to the export format choose report definition. This will create a .txt fiel that spells out almost every formula, summary, etc. Search this text file for the field name, then go back and get rid of the formula in question. If you Export "Report Definition" to Application (usually notepad) you can search for occurences of that field.

Thanks for your responses. I'll try that.
I just wanted to confirm that there is no way, while in the actual report designer, to view where the fields are without doing the report definition.

We use a product called the Report Analyzer that provides great documentation on the fields used in reports. It is a third party product from
I know this is not exactly what you are looking for, but you might want to look into it as it has a lot of other uses!
