How does someone find the devices that are in use. In particular I am trying to find the device being used by a PCMCIA flash burner card. I am very familar with HP-UX, but can not find a corresponding Linux utility to the ioscan command.

You can try man fuser, and man ps, but short
of scanning /proc for the pertinent pcmcia entries and finding/writing something to interpret the results I don't think
there is a dedicated utility.
