I am willing to try the patches and upgrades for running Foxpro 2.6a under Windows 2000, but how do you even install it. Clicking on SETUP.EXE brought problems immediately. Can others do it?

Several of the people in IT are 'into Windows 2000'. One of the major apps that we use runs in Foxpro 2.6.

I did try to install it. I never succeeded.

It WILL work in WINDOWS 2000 PRO when the patches are applied. I upgraded FPW26 to 2.6a, then applied the PATCH2x and it ran fine under WIN2K.

That however was on a machine that had WIN98, then was upgraded to WIN2K. Does anyone know how to get FPW26 to load on a WIN2K machine from the start? I know "SETUP.EXE" does not work (or does it?). Do you just copy all the files from a WIN98 machine and place them in WIN2K, then do the updates???

Any tips would be appreciated.

I think Aussie2U may be on the right track: FPW26 was much more portable than VFP (i.e. no Windows Registry hassles), so I think you could ZIP it up from a working machine and unzip it onto the Win2K machine.

FoxPro 2.x (Win or Dos) does not need to be 'setup'. You can copy the folder straight into your new system.
