Can I set up my ArcserveIT 6.61 backup jobs to erase the tape before each job. I don't want to use the append/overwrite options because it does not give the tape a new label. I am able to use the (chgtest.exe) application to get my autoloaders to erase the tapes before each job, but I can't seem to get it to work on a single dlt drive. Thanks

Unfortunately arcbatch.exe has no facility for erasing tapes.
I suppose you are running a rotation job, which uses the same tape label. What are you trying to accomplish ? A new tape label every time the tape is written to ? If so you may want to try a media pool and scratch set with a short retention time. That should rewrite the label as soon as the tape is used again with a current date etc.

Let me know the specifics of your goals, maybe we can help.
