how do you enable volsafe on a 9840 drive?

We have some older 9840 drives (firmware is above the required, its at 1.34 right now) and I want to enable Volsafe. When I try to it asks for a password (3 digit 0-f choices). Anyone know what that password may be?

I think the VolSafe feature is password protected and can only be enabled by a CSE.
