I'm using HP-UX 10.20 and often need to cancel large batches of print jobs. I'm looking for a setting on adding the printer or when cancelling or something that I don't receive all the messages sent to root for each print that is cancelled.

I've browsed different sites and read man pages, but cannot find a solution.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Debbie

Debbie,

Check to see if you have your /etc/syslog.conf file setup to send messages about the lpr. If it is, you can comment out the line that references it or you can have it redirected to a different user or host.

I would also try refreshing the syslogd after making any changes to /etc/syslog.conf. Regards,
Chuck
