Can you copy the IE inbox folder to another folder & also say to a zip disk or cd?If so what is the process?
Also how can I transfer some of my older e-mail messages to another folder so I can then delete them from the in box.
I have over 8500 messages .Ineed to keep a history of these messages as they relate to my jobs.I just do not need to have all of them clogging up the current inbox.
Thanks to anyone for you help.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding - by IE do you mean Internet Explorer? If so, I wasn't aware IE had an "inbox" or any email capabilities.

if you could post what email client you're using, we may be able to help some more. again, apologies if I've misunderstood!

Why can't you delete your email from the inbox? High light one email and select Edit , Select All and Delete. You can drag and drop the ones you want to save to another folder first. Right click on Local Folders and select New Folder and call it "Saved Email". Then drag the emails you want to save to the new folder. That's one simple way. If you have 8500 emails, then I would delete them all and start over if it was me--unless you can't live without some of them. After you get them to your deleted folder you have to permanently delete them by selecting Edit and Empty Deleted Items Folder. Is this what you need to know??
