How do you control the default ringing level in the NEC 2000 IPS system? Each user can manipulate the sound level on their phone-set. Can I over-ride that and make the default ringer louder or quieter? What about the paging system over the phone? Is that the same setting?

I don't believe there is a way to default ringing or page volume levels from the switch as these are levels generated by the Dterm its self. The only way I can think of defaulting them all at once is to do a system reset (it may even have to be a power off reset).

By the way you only need to post the question once. If you don't get a reply it is probably because no one has the answer to hand. I had to investigate this one before even giving an opinion.

We do usually get round to it though and it is much easier to add to the original post to get it back to the top than start all over again.

OzzieGeorge,
I thought I was not getting a response becuase I spelled ringing wrong so I reposted.
Thank you for your valuable post. However, please help me understand command 3547
Table below shows the value of C.O, LD and DID trunk Gain PAD assigned by CM35 Y=47,
Data=0-3 (T: Transmitter PAD (dB), R: Receiver PAD (dB)).
CM35 Y=47 DATA COT (T/R) LDT/DID (T/R) REMARKS
0 +1.5/6.5 +1.5/6.5
1 None 0/0
2 None +0.5/+2.5
3 +0.5/+5.5 +0.5/+5.5
I guess that is for the sound not the ringing.

What about 4274 Off Hook Ring Volume 1

But I wanted to control it by trunk route too. I wanted to trunk route to override the station. The reason is that when you have a door phone, the ding dong sound is low (3500>RT>06)

The thing you have to remember here is that you are trying to control something that is set at the dterm it's self. The pad levels control the underlying level but individual settings are dealt with by the specific dterm. As an example I can only offer the fact that you can allow dterms to set their own reception levels, but can't actually set those levels.

I may be wrong but I would be quite surprised. That could of course be Ego so over to anyone more knowledgeable.
