My experience is with the 8700s and CM. Now I got two Partners to manage because we bought a company with 2 offices with Partners. I can't find any documents that explain the basic admin interface. Nothing about the console cable, whether to plug it into the admin port, etc.

I also tried the LAN port thinking it might pick up an address that I could connect to. No luck.

The one unit I have seen has a ACS 509 processor, 3 308EC modules and a partner messaging module. No idea about the software/firmware levels. I have tried a variety of cables on the admin port of the processor board and rs232 port of the messaging board. I think that once I get in I will be able to figure out a lot of the config stuff. I just cant get in!

LAN port is for "future use" on partner. Can admin via "Admin" port - which is serial via adapter. Although you can fabricate your own, the easiest is to buy the adapter from Avaya. You can download the PC admin software app from the support site. Most folks admin from extension 10. With addition of modem, you can admin from remote site.

Partner Messaging is administered separately. This CAN use the LAN port, again, you can download the admin application from support site.

ALL of the documentation is also available from support site.

Good luck.
