Hello All,

I'm concerned that our MSDE database may soon grow to the 2 GB limit. How can I check the current size of the database? Is there a way to reset or clear it?

Thanks,

Jay

You should be able to find the size of the database by logging into your epo server and going to the epo folder (in my case c:\program files\network associates\epo) in there should be a folder called MSSQL with a subfolder called Data. The data folder is what contains the current runing epo database from what I understand.

I am not 100% sure if you can run the Microsoft SQL Enterprise Tools on the database to compact it, but you may be able to. As far as I know, the only way of clearing it, is by starting with a fresh install and recreating the database from scratch.
Hope that helps,

Sven

We had this 2GB problem the way we got around it was:

If you attach to the MSDE database via an SQL 7 installation you can truncate the logs which will give you back the space required. This is how we maintain our MSDE database.

Also look at what is logged and purge the database through epo under alerts, removal, we only tend to keep 60 days worth of data in there. Also once you have removed run a repair to check the integrity.
