How do you change status bar resolution

For some reason the statu bar has a resolution of 928 x 254 and it
distorts the site.

I tried to change it but the items are disable.

When you got to edit size and click one of the sizes it does not
use the new size. How do I set the default size.

Using Dreamweaver CS3
