Sorry for the newb question but how do you change the password to login into a 96xx IP phone?

H323 - security code in the station form.
SIP - comm profile password in the comm profile tab in user mgmt in system manager

Thank you Kyle.

Also, how do you know if you can plug in a pc into the network of a 96xx phone? What setting in the station form needs to be enabled to do that?

none. default should work, but lookup PHY2STAT in the 46xxsettings file. anything PHY2 in there relates to the PC port.
By default it'll pass through I think. Though lobby phones would be part of a "group" in the settings file that would usually lock the port down.

Presumably your phones should be tagging with the voice vlan ID - learned thru LLDP or DHCP option 242 from the data vlan, and the PC will pass through untagged frames and your data switch would allow frames tagged with the voice vlan in the voice subnet and untagged frames default to whatever subnet you use for PCs.

What are you trying to do? Don't piss off your network guy if you're not familiar with this stuff and put a few hours in to sort out the concepts.

Required bathroom reading:

If you are talking about the network pass-through port on the phone. it is enable or disable in the 46xxsetting file.

Just want to know if the user can plug in their pc into the phones. THx

There is no setting on the station form as Kyle points out it is controlled from the 46xx settings file , plug a pc in and see if you get an IP address , there is nothing that will go wrong , if you get a IP check to see if it is the same range as the phone , if it is the network team will need to look at Vlans on your data switches as you may get quality issues if they are not segragated.
