How do you back up the NDS Structure in NetWare 5.1? I just got done talking a NetWare class and we had to design are own network. After putting in so many hours worth of work I would like to back up my NDS Structure and use it on my future Novell Server.

Thanks
Dan

Assuming your directory will fit on a floppy, load NWCONFIG> DIRECTORY OPTIONS> DIRECTORY BACKUP AND RESTORE OPTIONS> SAVE LOCAL NDS INFORMATION.

This will save the directory that lives on the server you are doing the back up on. You can choose where to save the file, either to a floppy or to SYS:SYSTEM. Be aware that this process will essentially lock and remove NDS and make the server unusable. It should be used only when planning to remove that server. Search for "BACKUP.NDS" for a number of useful TIDs. Read them before proceeding.

There are other options, but it sounds like you want to be able to take your directory with you.

Good Luck.
