How do you apply "round corners" to an individual point?

Whenever I try to do this (filters>stylize>roundcorners), by using the direct selection arrow, the round corners command is applied to all points in the shape.

Is it possible to apply the round corners to only one or a few points, but leave the other points unaltered?

There is no easy way to do this. You'll need to either expand or outline your box (or whatever) and round the corners individually.
