I'm still learning Windows 2k and networking in general. I have a Linksys 8 port router, Windows 2000k Advanced Server, and 2 workstations connected to the internet via a cable modem. I have my server with a static internal IP address while the router is using DHCP for the workstations. My friend and I are wanting to connect our two servers together so that we could both log onto each others workstations and see both LAN's. My friend is also running on a Linksys 4 port router as well as Windows 2k Advanced Server and 2 workstations connected to the internet via a cable modem. He also has his server set with a static internal IP address while the router is using DHCP for the his workstations. I would also like to be able to VPN (RRAS) into my server while on my laptop via the internet and be able to see both his and my networks. I guess my questions would be this:

1. Is this possible and what would be the best way of doing these types of connections? (I have heard of two way trusts?)

2. Also is there instructions on how to do this step by step somewhere that we can look at and follow?

Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks!
