How do I warn user of an impending session timout?

I have users that are working in an application which has a short timeout perioed due to security concerns. If they are not at their computers then I do need the session to end after 20 minutes, however, if they are at the computer but using other applications at the same time, I don't want it to automatically kill the session.

So, is it possible to give them a pop-up box telling them that they have 5 minutes to click OK or the session will end? I have seen this is other places, but I don't know if it is ASP.

Thanks,
Derek

I use JS as well, but on my laptop I've encountered an undocumented feature ;)
When it goes to sleep-mode it freezes the script-execution which means that when I re-activate it it is out of sync with the server...
This is not a bug - it's an undocumented feature...

how about recording the time on the clients machine at the start of a period of inactivity - when your laptop 'wakes up' you can compare the latest time and use that to determine if the Session Timeout was approaching or lapsed.

just a thought

I know, I've had it myself, but seeing as I am the only one accessing the system from a laptop, and will only be doing so during the development-phase I didn't care to do it ;)
