How do I verify data on Tape? 1

I have version 5.0 mp2 on a windows server.

The only sure way to verify data is to do an actual restore. Another way, but not as sure, would be to create a duplicate of the image. That would force the reading of the original backup copy for duplicaion purposes.

Just because the Veritas documentation states a certain thing does not make it a fact

That is an excellent idea, thank you. I did find the verify in the media section but it is not comparing the image to what is on the disk. It compares what it has in the catalog to what it backed up.
