I created a report in Crystal v10 that accesses a MS Access database using the Access/Excel connection type. It works great until I try to publish in Crystal Enterprise.

I get 'The report you requested requires further information' and prompted for username and password although there is no user and password on the database.

The database is on a shared drive that the crystal server has access to.

Does anyone know if there are certain settings I should be using for server and database when I use an ms access database? I have tried the custom driver crdb_dao.dll but that didn't work either.

Hi,
when you say:

What exactly do you mean?
To access a file system object, the CE service processing the request ( pageserver or jobserver) must be running under an account that has access rights to the database file location.
That location must be specified using UNC notation, not a drive letetr, since the services do not use drive letetrs, only users do..

Wat Turk means is, use the path to it as in:

\\machine\path...

So when youhave it mapped as G:\path

You'llsee in explorer that it shows the machine and the path as part of the description of the mapped drive.

Type \\machine into explorer, then drill into the path to the file, copy and paste from the explorerwindow and you'll have the path (adding the filename of course).

I added the account to pageserver and jobserver and now it works!!!

Thanks very much.
