how do i use a portscan, what is a start and end address and how do i get them, also what is a start and end point. and what are "threads". helphelp ehlp
 
From the message you have written I am afraid that any answer provided is gonna prompt dozens of other questions.

You really need to bone up on TCP/IP before anything you get from a port scanner is going to make any sense.

A good anti insomniant is TCP/IP Unleashed by SAMS or any of the Teach yourself series.

There are free electronic copies (see their electronic library) of most older IT books at although some are missing a couple of diagrams.

For completeness sake...

a start address is the first in the range of IP addresses that you intend to scan and the end address is the point you wish to stop ie last IP address in the range.

With regards to getting them it all depends on what you are post scanning. I assume you are post scanning your own net or one from which you have sought permission.........otherwise you could get yourself in trouble with, at the very least, your ISP.
