I am having an issue where our 9620 phones are not logging missed external calls. They will log missed internal, but not external. Avaya (I believe as a last straw since it has been 5 weeks and they do not have a solution) is recommending upgrading the firmware. I want to do this on a single station to test. How can I do that? This is a CM 6.0 S8800 with IP stations. I am used to the old DCP station firmware download. All the documentation points to pushing the new files onto the HTTP server directory, but I'm concerned this will make it available to all my sets. We also have a strict change request policy, so I cant just swap the files out, quickly boot the test set, then swap them back.

create 2 directories on your http server. one with the old firmware and one with the new. Swap the directories names and reboot your phone. then swap the names back. I do this all the time to test 1 phone in a large environment.

you could always set up mviptel on your lap top and static the phone to use your laptop as the file server

Or set a IP phone group and tweak the 96xxupgrade file

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
