How do I update the data from difference file (exel file)
worksheet1 worksheet2
Colum1 colum2 colum3 colum1 colum2
row1 John FA00 row1 Sara FC00
row2 tom FB00 row2 Jason
row3 Sara FC00 row3 John FA00

I like to import the data from worksheet2, colum2 to worksheet1 colum3 that if the value in worksheet1 and worksheet2 match.

I am not sure I understand. What values should match? Name or the Fx00 figures?

Also, should what you import back match the name (i.e. do you want to import FC00 into column 3 if both Sara's match?)

Can you clarify?

I think I have it working. Using:

=(IF(Sheet2!$A$1:$A$3=Sheet1!A3,Sheet2!$B$1:$B$3,0))

and then putting it into an array (CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER), so the formula looks like:

{=(IF(Sheet2!$A$1:$A$3=Sheet1!A3,Sheet2!$B$1:$B$3,0))}

I get the results back OK. What is strange though is that the top cell (A1) does not populate, but all the other cells do.

I will keep testing, but this may give you a pointer.
