I am very new to Access and have formed my database mainly through use of wizards and trial and error, so while I may be able to copy some programming I am certainly not a programmer.

I have created a database for staff management and this has now been distributed to other staff managers, however I am continuously updating the database with new functions, reports, etc. How can I send this new databse to the others and allow them to update theirs without affecting the data they already have entered.

Please excuse me if the terms used here are incorrect.

look at database splitting on the tool menu

pwise,

My apologies for interrupting, but I have to ask: Is "database splitting" the same thing as the front end/back end solution?

I've never done that, although I can think of one time when I should have. Instead of being smart, I set the stupid system up where I had to go to a DOZEN (12) computers every night and transfer that day's data entry to the main (my) database. I highly recommend this solution to anyone who prefers 12-hour days to 8-hour days...

Thanks for your time.
