Hi,

(The following question may be only suitable for UK users - not sure)

I'm trying to help a friend get connected to Broadband ADSL. The company
(TalkTalk) supplies an installation CD along with the hardware (ADSL modem
that plugs into a USB port +cables etc.

We get so far with the installation but it comes to a bit where a message
comes up:

DSL MODEM SETUP WIZARD
The DSL modem is already installed. To upgrade the software, you must
remove the current software and run the setup again later.

The problem is that I do not know how to "remove the current software". I
have been thru the Add / Remove Programs and nothing listed that relates to
a modem or its drivers. I have been to the device manager and there is no
mention of the DSL modem driver anywhere.

I took the opportunity (since I had the official Microsoft CD with me) to
upgrade her system to SP2 and that was completely successful. I guess I had
hoped that that may help! But it didn't.

Can anyone help me with this? If so I'd be very grateful!

Jim
