My dad is making me uninstall GIMP. How do I unassosociate it with all my files? I uninstalled it once and I couldnt open alot of my files!

If these files are still associated with GIMP, then this is a bug in the uninstaller. You should consider sending a big report to the gimp-win maintainers.

To unassociate I guess you would have to do this by hand in the filemanager. In Tools there is the Folders Options, which let you edit the file types. There might be easier ways to do this, I'm by no means a Windows expert :)

The best option is of course to convince your dad that GIMP really should be on his PC. It's a great program and it's free.

He doesnt mind the program, he just doesnt want all those file types associated with it. For example, when I click on what used to be JPEG image, now gimp opens and thinks that I to want to edit it. I don't want that. I want to be able to click on a JPEG image and view it in Microsoft Internet Explorer. (I'm still on Windows 98)

Type "change file associations in windows" (without the quotes) into Google. There are lots of sites that tell you how to do it. I didn't spend a lot of time looking, but I'll bet you can even find a utility program to do it for you.
