hey, i have windows xp and a 750mb zip drive and i am useing a 100mb zip disk on my computer and it will read from the disk but it won't write to the disk but my friends computer has windows 98 and a 100mb zip drive and their computer will write to my 100mb zip disk but mine won't my computer (xp) keeps telling me that my disk is write protected what do i do? i have a 750mb zip disk and it writes and reads without telling me its write protected but the 100mb disk says its write protected.

750mb zip disk! - I didn't realize they had gotten that big. Is this only 1 particular disk or does it apply to all 100mb disks? Have you tried copying everything off and formatting the disk?

yes, i can't format the disk because my computer says it's write protected. and the 750mb zip drive supports 100, 250, and 750 mega byte zip disks.

thanks, now i know i can't fix this problem so ill have to get another 100mb zip drive for my 100mb zip disks.
