rename and it is gone or put in a nice christmas jingle

As a remote support engineer I use manager numerous times a day
rarely do I use the VM pro Client.

I am going to be very unpopular or insane (probably both) very soon

I hope this Hair-brained Idea gets removed in the maintenance release (it is too much to hope for a patch release for this :-( )

Try opening it when you're using a softphone to speak to customers and "the manager" stops you being able to listen to people and makes your ears bleed!

As much as i hate the cisco one too, at least it doesnt actually say "cisco".

I'd say just mute your laptop but if you're using a softphone then you're stuffed.

If everyone complains about it as I have, they may do something about it, I can't see how advertising Avaya in this manner to an engineer trying to programme the system helps anyone

It may not have been so bad if it had said something like:

"Warning incorrect use of this software can render your telephone system unusable"

At least it would have had a practical purpose (although a splash screen msg would still be more suitable.)

I used Process Monitor and did not see it call a file to play or call a registry setting. I suppose that the tune must be embedded into the exe.

While looking at Process Monitor I wondered why I would see it constantly step through all of the computers audio settings.

Now I know.

There is a Manager volume knob in the windows audio mixer. And it works as expected.
