I have an external optical disk mounted to a SCO system. I need to replace this disk with another external optical disk of a different type. What do I need to look for to totally remove all traces of the first device?
If the new thing has the same driver and scsi id etc., you don't need to do anything.
If it isn't, you still really don't need to do anything more than remove it from /etc/conf/cf.d/mscsi and relink: if nothing tries to access the node, you'll never even see an error message.
