How do i test Sendmail from the terminal 2

Hey guyz,
I am having problems with my sendmail. Please can someone give me the command line to send a test mail to e-mail address like hotmail or yahoo.

cat some_file.txt |mail -s "test mail" user@hotmail.com

Chacal, Inc.

Or maybe /usr/lib/sendmail -v no.body@anywhere.com < /etc/motd (assuming you have a message-of-the-day file). This'll do a verbose sendmail.... no.body is a dummy account usually created when Unix/Linux is installed...
