Newbie here... how do I tell if my Norstar 6x16 is DR2 or DR5? Unit is a NT5B01, card says NT5B11DA

That's an old one.

Was there a particular feature you're trying to get to work?

Well I was looking at a StarTalk Flash 4 and I think it needs DR2 or DR5 to work.

You need DR5 for a Flash to work with your 616. You won't have supervision, so I'd recommend upgrading to a CICS instead of upgrading software on your current system.

Of course, the words "supervision" and "CICS" mean nothing to me at this point. I just want to hook up an auto attendant with voice mails.

the supervision or "disconnect supervision"(ds) refers to the vmail detecting that someone has hung up and will drop the line

if your cabinet has on it " non-ds"
it can not detect this hangup properly and the line will lock on the vmail till it times out or is manually disconnected

the term cics is nortels short form for
Compact Integrated Communication System

HALLOWED ARE THE ORI
