On RedHat, you could use the [tt]switchdesk[/tt] program.

in your .Xclients-default file in your home directory replace the
exec gnome-session with
exec startkde

Tell us what distro you are using the same goes for some of your other posts

How do you do this for RedHat 9.0?

-Laughter works miracles.

You can do it session-by-session by using the Session (Alt-S) link on the Gnome logon screen. I think that there is a way to change it permanently at that point.

This will work with All red hat versions and should work with all Linux versions that are running an X server. It is the X server that sets up your windows and you can choose your windows manager or desktop enviorment by the
.Xclients-default configuration file.
