Hi There,

I use CR V10, and I have a problem with Groups showing in the Group tree, that don't show in the report.

I have my data grouped by LOCATION, but in some instances none of the data within a location group is VALID to display in the particular report, so the group is suppressed.

But in the GROUP TREE next to the preview window, all the locations are shown - regardless of whether I have got them suppressed in the actual report.

How can I make these locations also disappear from the group tree?

Any Q's, please ask.

Thanks

Can you modify your record selection so that these combinations are never included in the first place?

Hi There,

Unfortunately excluding the data at record selection is not an option, as due to the way the database has been designed, I need to bring back the data and compare different parts to know whether to exclude the records or not.

Maybe when they replace it next year, it might be better designed for reporting.......

I agree this is not an expected behavior and I hope they correct it in future versions.

Until then, you can use a View, Stored Procedure, or Command to restrict the groups before they get to Crystal.

- Ido

view, e-mail, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.
