How do I sum this Field?

I have the following Field;

Name: PENALTYCUSTOMER
Control Source: =[DAYS]*[COST]
Format: Currency

Days are equal to the number of days overdue
Cost is the daily cost for each item overdue

How do I sum this Field? I am at my wits end.

My apologies for not being clear. Here is the problem. I have the following Fields in this order

Name: Numberofdays
Control Source: =[Datein]-[Dateout]-1
Format: Currency

Then:

Name: Penaltydays
Control Source: =[Numberofdays]*[Penalty]
Format: Currency

How do I sum Penaltydays?

I have tried using the following:

Name: Totalpenalty
Control Source: =sum([Numberofdays]*[Penalty])
Format: Currency

But get an error messsage. I have also tried:

Name Totalpenalty
Control Source: =sum([Penaltydays])

But get an error message. Help
