Hello All.

I have an issue with a customer, they would like to restrict or make it impossible for user taking a call and then transferring that call to a particular user VM box that is turned off.

On the users profile, I have removed all VM settings, and source numbers, but when a call is transferred to their 'VM box' (which you would think is now deleted) the caller is still able to leave a message.

Is there anyway will can disable phonemanager from transferring callers to VM boxes that should not be active.

IP412 V2.1(15)

Thanks

Joe

I am not sure how to stop this, but if there is no way you can always create the mailbox (stay with me here), then at the leave start point play an announcement that this mailbox is not able to except messages then a transfer to the operator (recept). Not sure if this is what your looking for, but it might help.

Hi Juandebolo,

That's not a bad idea, I would prefer that there is no mailbox at all that any one can transfer callers into.

I was thinking about doing something crazt with shortcodes, but it is friday and I can't really think!!!

VM Pro will always create a MB for every user. The only way to actually delete a user and mailbox is to drill down into the VMPro dircetory and delete the actual folder. Be aware if the user still exists in Manager, VMPRO will re-create the box even if you have unchecked it on the user form (which only allows acess or not to the VM Box)

I like using modules instead of short codes. You can creat a module that has a generic action and play the announcement mentioned above, and then a disconnect or transfer to recp. and then drag it to any start point you like. Call the Module "No Mail" if you like.

Add the user into VMPRO if not already in the user colum, select only a collect start point, drag the new module in, save and make live.

If you created the "No Mail" module and used a transfer action to transfer to "$CLI" would that transfer the call right back to the person dumping it into voice mail?

That would train people not to go dumpimg calls into empty mailboxes pretty quickly.

What if TestBench is using VM LITE and doesn't have the enhanced features of VM Pro can he disable transfering calls to a VM box?

To block VM transferes will require VM pro.
I do not know of nay other way of preventing PM, from transfering to VM.

You could reprogramm F3, but that willnot stop someone who is determined to send a call to VM from selectimg the VM Icon

Hello chaps,

I have VMPro.
I have create a leave mail action for the user.

Shortcode
Start point ---------Transfer action----> to Extn203

Now when every a user transfers a caller through to this persons VMbox they will be put straight through to Extn203, for example and the caller will be answered by a human.

The customer didn't want a recorded message. Mial jail.

THis works fine

Cheers

Joe
