How do I stop random characters being sent?

Howdy everyone. I could use a little help please.

I use a direct connect from my PC to my Meridian 81C. I occassionally receive an unwanted character when I run scripts or am just typing.

Example: I could type...

REQ: prt
TYPE: tnb

And what I might see is...

REQ: prt
TYPE: @nb

Don't know what is causing it. My co-worker does not receive these characters and my procomm is set up exactly like his.

I've gone as far as trying another product called CRT but the scripting isn't the same.

Anyone have any suggestions?

My first hunch would be that the cable between your PC and the Meridian may not be the best in quality. If you have another (preferably new) cable you can try, I would give that a shot.
