How do I stop Norton removing a file

My father is running some software and Norton keeps removing a file so it stops working - I'm running Norton Internet security 2005 - how do I let this program work. As far as I know it does not contact the internet and if I scan for internet programs it does not get shown.

ou can choose to have Norton exclude certain files and folders. Simply add the file to this list and it will not be scanned.
