How do I stop an stcgenericmonk from sending an ACK

I am developing interfaces to receive HL7 messages from Philips Telemetry devices. Philips does not want to receive ACK for the messages send.

Also, Philips wants to setup the incoming interface as a client instaed of a server. When I try this, the connection is not established successfully. I keep getting the following message:
Unable to find STX (0x0)
