How do I speed up Excel exporting?

I am exporting to excel through CR 8.0 and the report seems to be take a tremedously long time to export? Any expanation of why this may be occuring or tips appreciated.
 
Where is the time spent:
Reading the data
Processing the data
Exporting the data

Thanks for responding. The problem seems to be in the exporting. 14,000 records and it has exported 6400 and is clicking along at about 15 per HOUR! We began last Wednesday and we are at 45% complete. But it does continue to move forward.
 
This sounds like it is running out of resources. It may not have enough ram, forcing it to swap to disk, which can take extra time. Have you tried it on a PC with more RAM? Ken Hamady
