HOW DO I SPECIFY WHICH MEDIA POOL TO USE

Hello,

I am resubmitting backup jobs because we had a power failure and the jobs became corrupt. I have two device groups configured with two seperate media pools. ARC1 and ARC2. I am trying to resubmit my ARC2 job and specify it use media pool ARC2 but when I submit, the summary information about the job appears but says its configured to use media pool ARC1. I do have the device group ARC2 selected under destination. I am currently useing ARCServe IT for WINNT Version 6.61

I apologize I am new to ARCServe and still learning. You wrote

1. Submit the GFS job with a new Media pool name.
2. Modify the GFS job you submitted and change the media
pool name to the original media pool and resubmit


*I currently do not have my jobs configured as a GFS Jobs I am not sure if this matters or not. But my question specifically is where do I tell the job to use a specific media pool. The destination tab just points to the device group right?

What kind of a job is this, simple rotation or GFS or custom??

Custom jobs do not use media pools.

Simple Rotation\GFS use media pools

On the Backup Manager go to the "Schedule" option.

select "use rotation Scheme"

this will bring up another window...

this windows lets you put in the name of the media pool..

Hello again,

Thanks for your reply. I am using simple rotation right now. I did have the use rotation scheme selected under schedule but do not see a field for changing the media pool used. In the lower left corner of that screen it says media pool used but this is the only thing I see referencing the media pool?

Yes. This is the only place where you can specify the media pool name.

I finally solved the mystery as to why I did not have the media pool field viewable. The taskbar was in the way. Ok well thanks for your time and Im just going to crawl under my desk the rest of the day
