I have connected 2 win'95 computers and would like to share a modem for both, how should I go about that?.

i think you need to have windows 98 v.2 on at least one PC before you can share your internet connection. [sig][/sig]

visit and download the proxy program Wingate.
Another program which is great is Sygate. That program works like a router instead of a proxy. I used it when I had my cable-modem and shared the connection with my roomate. I think you can use it for your purpose as well.

Ref: Wingate

Wingate is an excellent product, because as a proxy server it provides some security features against hackers but please consider Wingate is not freeware The downloaded software is a demorelease with limited expiration time.

If you have a ISDN-Connection you may think about Fritz-Ken Software too.

But nevertheless if you are connecting to internet i recommend an OS Upgrade to Windows98 SE or - what would be better because of security considerations - Windows NT or 2000. [sig]
hnd
hasso55@yahoo.com

[/sig]

There is a old version of Wingate which is free, at least for non-commercial use, and can be downloaded from the wingate site. There is no support.

I agree with hnd, you would be better changing to WIN98SE or later. You can then use Microsoft Internet Connection Sharing which is extremely easy to setup and works a treat. You can share with a Win95 client but the modem pc must be WIN98SE or later.

I have used a programme called SAPS by Spartacom that works well for sharing modems, but has no security. Spartacom has a demo version that you could probably use (I think [sig][/sig]
