on a partner acs r3 with vm r5, upgraded from a 2 port vm card to a 4 port vm card. after that, seem to have lost all but 1 vm port and incoming calls are not hitting x10, getting put into vm system, and transferred to AA. any ideas on what i need to do?, pretty new at this, go gentle

also have the acs remote administration software, i am able to connect, but asking for system password, does not accept what sysadmin pw is

Well, you need to figure out what your voice mail port extension numbers are, and add the two new ports to hunt group 7, and set their transfer return extension to 10. If you post an inventory of the equipment in your control unit, including what's in which slot, someone can give you step-by-step instructions.

Hi ctc2323,
To access your system, get into system programming. Feature 00, left intercom button twice. Enter #730 and input your password (choose one) The password is entered the same way you would name an extension, A=21 B=22 C=23 D=31. You have to hit "enter" to save this change. On a Partner 18D, it's the third button down on the right hand side.
For VM ports are entered into Hunt groups (#505, 7). Enter the ports the VM occupies. The vm card looks like a 206 card as far as the ports are concerned. You will use the last four ports on the card. They are counted up like the existing ports. To find them or confirm, just call the port on the intercom. Unassigned ports will say "transfering to the operator" (or close).
After you are done, enter #124 and press the enter key to save your changes on the card.

Not that this really matters or anything, but if anyone ever wondered the logic on labeling on a partner set, the first number to enter is the button with the letter on it, the second number is the position the letter is at one the button, for example. The letter a is the first letter on button two, so it is 21. The letter F is the third letter on button 3, so it is 33. Nothing even remotely related to the thread, just some FYI.

hey, i got it. found my vm ext on 44 and 45, added 46 and 47 to hunt group 7, and set xfer return to x10. thanks for the help on that, this thread and a couple others helped me.

i will try the setting of the password asap and post results.
thanks again all

yes, pw reset worked as well. however, new question pertaining to the ACS remote administration sw....everytime i restore translations and after system restart, i am not able to login, does not accept pw. i have to reset it and then connect. that might be related to my next question.....why don't the programmed buttons on the phones update when using the ACS remote sw, it goes to default settings. let me know if anyone has the time

Hi ctct2323,
If I understand you, the settings changed remotely are uploaded to the card in the processor. You then need to do a restore to make the changes active.
So, the sequence of events is as follows. Download the translation, make your changes, save the changed file to your hard drive and upload that file to the remote system. Restore to make the uploaded file active.
As far as the password disappearing goes, do a manual backup (#124)after putting in your password. Also, put ext 76 into hunt group 6 (#505). Assign automatic extension privacy to ext 76. If you save all of this you can get in through the auto attendant. Use about eight pauses in your dial string (for delayed two rings) followed by 776.
