if the 2 ports on the startalk flash are busy, what is the easiest way to have the 3rd inbound call go to a set. I know very little, but I can change any setting it is just a matter of knowing the best thing to do. Thanks.

If all VM ports are busy, incoming calls will go to the set to which the lines are programmed to be Prime, under Line programming.
If the lines are programmed to Appear Only, say at the reception set, then the calls will ring on the line position. If the lines do not appear on the prime set, the calls will ring on the Intercom.
Best to ensure you have an adequate number of intercom links on the set to handle incoming calls if there are no line appearances

great so if the reception phone is set as the prime set for all the inbound lines and they all appear only on the reception set, will they appear only on an overflow from the vm ports, or will they ring and appear?

They will ring and appear on the overflow, you could also assign the prime set to have all lines to ring and appear in line access programming but then recepetion would have to put up with a half ring every call incoming call.
If you have a Flash Voice Mail you can upgrade to a 4 port with a simple installation of a catridge inside the Flash unit.
If you have a Startalk Mini then your out of luck for any upgrade.
