How do i setup an SMTP on an IIS 5 running on Win2000 Advance Server ?

Hi Guys !

I wanted to know as to how should i setup a SMTP on IIS 5 running on a Win2000 Advance server ? .. Actually im using a COM+ component to send mails through CDONTS, and i need to setup a SMTP in IIS for the mail to go .. and till now ive searched and gone through MSDN as well but havent got any useful help !

Was wondering if anyone can help me out here ... the IIS is on a machine that doesnt have internet access (testing it on local lan) .. so what do i do ? .. setup a smtp of the exchange server or what... please enlighten me

hi abs,

you can set up smtp when you go to add or remove programs in the control panel. from there you can see 3 options to the left. choose the bottom one which adds windows program. from there find IIS and expand it, you would see SMTP services.
