How do I set up Lan Browsing ?? 1

I have Mandrake 8 (at last) and am having trouble setting up Lan Browsing. I cant seem to find any decent documentation anywhere. Can ne1 help?

what do U want to browse? files on other machines? what systems R there? MS win? - look in samba documentation, UNIX? look into ntfs, ftp, etc. documentation. Novell? mars documentation. printers? linux printing howto. printing on windows machines? linux samba printing howto.

2 Linux machines on an NT 4.0 lan with several other W98 machines.
Do I need to set up Samba?


P.S. I managed to set up Linux printing over the network initially, but the IP addresses keep resetting.

U may use samba server to enable access to files and printers on linux from windows and u can use smbclient and smbprint and smbmount to access windows files/printers from linux.
I'm using linux as fileserver and window machines do have their own printers, so I don't have a lot of experience with it.
