I have set up access databases with much success but I am new to SQL server.

Do I copy the SQL server database file like with access and have the host set up a DSN entry?

I think there is more involved eh?

Did you know there is a SQL Server forum: forum183

I'm sure they can help there!

Yes I do know there is one and I posted there too, but many on that forum are not web developers so I havnt gotten an answer.
I thought I would try among my own people!

Albert, it depends on how much control your host has given you over your environment. In theory, you can FTP your data files there and use the SQLS stored procedure sp_attach_db to get SQLS to recognize it. But I don't know if your host has given you that capability.

An alternative is to BCP it out from your local server, copy the file up, then BCP it in.
