how do i set up a wireless router and an access point

recently i decided to set up a wireless network at home... but one of the computers was getting a very weak signal... so we bought an access point hoping we could get a stronger signal to that computer... so after a few hours...here i am... i have no idea how to set it up... could anyone help??

router - netwgear wgt604
access point - netgear wg602

You need to setup the access points to have the same SSID, or network name.
